Google Play Music App Reviews
has all my music
Like it but...
My playlists and likes keep disappearing out of no where even after downloading the music offline. Also, an Apple Watch version would be great.
Scam: Buy a Song and No Access unless youre subscribed to monthly billing
I bought a song for $1.29 since I support artists and their work versus pirating free music, but it wont show on my music app since I am not subscribed to Google Musics monthly service. What a scam! This goes to show big business taking over the music industry and forcing everyone into yet another monthly bill simply to have access to music. Remember when you could buy CDs at the store? And then you owned a copy indefinitely. I can only imagine what slaves the artists must be to this crooked monopoly that most likely pays them a very small percentage of the profits.
Meh... I want to like this but cant.
Needs work. No EQ from what I could tell. Overly difficult to add songs from personal library. I tried multiple attempts to upload my library and after much frustration only uploading 120ish out of my 5000 songs, I simply gave up. You cant download individual songs, only full albums, for offline use. Sometimes I only want to use storage space for a few songs I listen to a lot, not the full album of songs I might not always listen to. Clicking on an artist you uploaded gives you all their available stuff online (top hits, available albums, etc...) first before your songs appear. Its annoying to scroll down every time through a bunch of stuff just to find songs youve uploaded or purchased. On a positive note, the included YouTube Red subscription is a nice added bonus. The service also does a great job helping you find correct album art, artist names, etc.. if your library isnt exactly organized. Better than Apple Music in some situations. Song selection for the subscription service is great also. I love the Google ecosystem but this service is a swing and a miss for me. Apple Music did a much better job uploading my personal library and frankly a much more fluid process.
EQ
Desperately needs an equalizer! All other top music services have one. That would make this app perfect!
Can you for the love of god fix the skipping
Im jamming and it skips to the next song! Its driving me nuts! Im about to switch to spotify. This is ridiculous.
Where is the EQ?
The app us great but the audio quality is sub par. Coming from Android where there is an equal built in the app I assumed it would be the same with the iOS version but it doesnt exist. Please!!!!!!! Add an EQ to this app so I dont have to switch to Apple music.
Great app one tweak
Love the app so I decided to pay for it. One feature I would like is to go to an artist and be able to download all of the artists top songs at once.
Music + YouTube Red = So much AWESOME
Overall, the Music app is very good. The automatic lists (e.g. Thumbs Up playlist) are nice features that Apples app lacks. I would love to have Siri integration and lyrics, though. Definitely 5 stars when we get those. I watch a lot of YouTube; so, its great having ad-free YouTube bundled in the subscription.
Reliable service, deep catalogue. Needs EQ
ADD the ability to use an EQUALIZER and VIEW LYRICS this app will be in the hall of fame!
Love it
Its great! No problems!!!! The app is SNAPPY! Has the music I want! I got YouTube Red and when I realized it had Google Play Music, I fell in love with Google Play Music!
Great service
I received free service for 3 month on purchase of google home. Must say really enjoyed the quality and the selection of songs and playlists.
Ads are inappropriate
I have been listening to a variety of childrens playlists and they are full of adds for inappropriate podcasts. Children dont need vivid details of unsolved murders played inbetween their Disney hits.
Bad
I downloaded my playlist. I go offline, it goes back to downloading. I cant listan to my favourite songs.
Ok but...
I can listen to music anywhere i want. Its Extremely helpful. But the thing is that i cant listen to the songs unless if i keep my phone on that app. I hope that it gets improved. Thanks!
My Favorite So Far
I have written reviews for quite a few of the music streaming services. Google Music has become my favorite. It does not repeat music nearly as much as the others. The sound quality is great even at 128 Kbps. Google Music has more music than some of the others and it really plays the music that you want to hear. Spotify, Apple, Pandora, Deezer and Amazon Music repeat songs constantly even though I have thumbed up and thumbed down songs. What good is it to have 30-40 million songs if you keep hearing the same 100? The negative aspect of Google Music is that Google does not listen to its listeners. In many blogs, people state that Google Music needs a volume normalizer and an equalizer would be nice. Google Musics listeners have been saying this a long time but Google is not listening still!
Its great but....
I really enjoy this app it has all the music I look for yet it keeps CRASHING please fix this
Stop ruining the app with updates!
Downloaded Music randomly pauses all the time now. Especially when unlocking the phone and viewing the app. How does that make any sense? Please fix this.
It Works well, but there are some significant problems
I really love being able to upload your own music. It works. The only problem is that there are visual glitches all over the place. There are duplicate albums that are consider the same and play at the same time. (Still not fixed) Also some of my uploaded music considers offline copy as 1gb download but only uses 200mb of actual phone storage. So there is storage amount glitches. Also the home page is rife with degrading images. Suggesting radio for garbage artist with garbage album art and pics. There should be a way to block home page suggestions to just the generic ones rather then the custom made ones. For a person who listens to soundtracks for movie why would I want to see deplorable art work from musicians I have no care for. You got a lot of bugs to fix along with family friendly content filters that need to be implemented.
Its Okay, One Problem Though....
I miss having this on my Samsung Galaxy S5! Thats why I downloaded it. It brought back memories to all the music I used to listen to that I purchased on Google play. My problem with this app is that its a bit choppy, it lags here and there, not giving me a smooth experience. When I back out and go to another app, the music cuts off.
