Bug or a feature?

Scenario: get in the car, hook up the phone to the radio via Bluetooth, open up the app, start the radio. Yay! It works! Ok, switch to gps app, music stops. Going back to the app, it shows that it is playing, clicking to pause it, hit play again. Works. Switch to gps again, music stops again. At this point either hit play through the car stereo or through the notifications screen. This bug has been reoccurring despite several updates.

Or call the app Google NoPlay Music, at least it would be fair.
