Really Super Terrible Music App

Constantly stops playing and drops music. Service seems on par with others but app is so terrible that it is nearly usable. Frequently unresponsive, crashes and plays song but doesn’t actually provide audio to listener. Any activity on phone causes skips, flaky playback or crashes, lockup and kills music. Come on google none of the competitor apps are this terrible or have issues these kind of issues.

Not very compatible with iOS

Very buggy, if I keep the app open and go to a different app the music will stop playing and then I have to manually start it again from the task bar then when I go back into the app it stops playing again. Not happy with the way it performs on iOS for the same price an android user would pay for a better service.

Download issues

Cannot ever fully download all my songs. I have tried many many times. Streaming then is a joke on this app.

Hoping for a fix soon

As a service, Google music is great. As an app, it is the worst. This app crashes constantly, and is extremely irritating. After working so well for so long, its a big recent disappointment. I dont want to switch music services, but am seriously considering it, after the last few months of unreliable streaming. Usually cannot get through more than one song at a time without crashing. Then it will work fine for a while and fool me into thinking its all better before crashing again. Very frustrating.

Pretty good

I think it’s really good for people who love all types of music I just don’t like how you can’t make a playlist of songs and choose from them ☹️??

Optimize for iPhone X

Longtime user forced to switch streaming services

I have had Google Play Music since 2012 before Apple Music and Prime Music. I’ve been a huge fan of having my entire library backed up and combined with a streaming service. That being said, for the past several months the app constantly pauses my music when unlocking my phone, switching to another app, re-opening the play music app, etc. it’s extremely annoying. It makes the app absolutely unusable. What makes it worse is that Google hasn’t even addressed this massive issue. The only reason I put up with it for so long was because of the vast collection of music and playlists I have created over the years. I finally got so sick if the horrendous bugs that I went on a mission to find a way to transfer my library to Amazon Prime Music. I used an app called STAMP to transfer my music and playlists and it set me free from the bug fiesta known as Play Music.

It needs a lot of work

Google haven’t updated the app for iOS 11. Music stops randomly, artwork is zoom too much, you can’t even edit the name of your playlist. This has been like that for a while and they dont do anything not even 3D touch support. $10 a month for a half made app not worth it. THEY DON’T LISTEN THEIR CUSTOMERS.

Needs work

UI is overdue for a makeover. Not the smoothest app and its starting to fall behind the competition. Would love to see an iPhone X and iOS 11 support update soon. I love your service! Just fix the app please.

Playlists aren’t as good as Spotify or Apple Music

Playlists could be better. Good to get to avoid ads on YouTube and that’s about it.

Trash on iPad Air

Newest update made the app incredibly laggy and slow, and now it crashes 40% of the time when I try to switch songs

Support for iPhone X

Would be great if this app could support 3D Touch from home screen to get to various things in the app and support the screen size of the iPhone X.

Great service, terrible app

Inside ios 11 and even before in ios 10 it was very buggy. I had the close the app when plugging in headphones so that the music could play, and I couldnt stop the music using the control center without me having to back into the app and press play and pause and then play again to get it working.

Too many bugs

I love this app and I use the service constantly, honestly I recommend it as a service, you also get YouTube red. But the iOS app is so bad. Sometimes I lock my screen and the music stops playing. Thankfully I have an android phone and I love the app on that

Update: (Still) Glitchy playback w Chrome cast

Now can’t cast to chromecast without crashing. Can’t connect to chromecast. Every other app casts just fine. It’s this app. This is coming from a paying customer. Used to work flawlessly, not sure what the iOS team at Google is doing here. iOS 11, ip7.

Nice. With a little work it could replace Spotify.

Music selection is just as good as the others. Interface is a little lacking. Spotify still has the best app with things like swipe gestures to queue songs, one tap to save to library, etc. I’m not making the switch just yet but Google has a nice start here.

Awful update

For real? This app just gets worse and worse. I can’t listen all the way through one song. Get it together you’re not some low tech startup you are the tech giant. Terrible

Kicks me out....not a fan.

I love the app for the most part...there is a great selection of songs to listen to.....however...as a busy business woman, I need to be able to access my phone WHILE listening to the music. Once I click out fo the app, it shuts the music off. What the use of playing music from this app of you are not able to do other things on your phone while listening to the music? Very frustrating. It causes me to use other user friendly apps instead.

Crashes when connecting to Chromecast off my iPhone 5S with latest iOS 11.1 update

Other apps like YouTube can connect and stream to my TV through Chromecast from my phone but for some reason this app keeps crashing. It tells me it’s connected but it’s not since music only plays through the phone. Needs a bug fix!!
