Google Play Music App Reviews

Ive used google music since the day it started, I still pay the beta price. This apps performance has me looking to drop the service. Between bad playback, skipping, corrupt cached files, and now locking up the hardware so I cant use Siri in my car, Im thoroughly disappointed.

When listening to a song, GPM loves to randomly skip around the track for no reason. I cant believe I am paying for this broken mess.

+ Google play hasnt disappointed me with its selection of music and media content. Its intuitive personalized music suggestions are surprisingly on point most of the time. Ive used all of the music streaming services and use Google Play 90% of the time. - App is buggy at times. When editing my playlist songs I remove add themes again once I close the application. It does crash but the frequency has decreased with every update. Overall, worth the money. Definitely looking forward to future improvements.

Great app for an iTunes alternative. Allows you to upload up to 50 gigs of music for free which you can then stream or download as you please. Also the subscription service is amazing.

The service is good and the app has a lot of cool functionality, but has many bugs. Sometimes your playlists will disappear or be cleared of their songs, sorting playlists does not work, and a little while ago lots of songs were removed. Still my primary music app, though the browser version is less buggy.

I love to use my iPhone with Bluetooth headphones and speakers to rock the old school late 80s & 90s music with working. I have my playlist and like that I could make different playlists for the mood I might be in as well. I can also listen to the playlists on any other device that supports google play and never need to download all your songs to take up space because its always stored under the google play account instead. Problems: 1. Low quality album pictures for every album. If these pictures are pixilated how can I trust the sound quality is what they claim? 2. Downloading songs is confusing and tedious. There should be a way to download your whole library and see your download queue 3. When I am trying to drag the dot that sets the play time of the song, it often skips the song or goes to the previous song instead. 4. Integration without iOS is poor. Scrolling is clunky and laggy, and the built in iOS music player that is accessible from the lock screen does not communicate with the app reliably 5. The interface and graphic design of the app do not look as sleek as competing apps, it almost looks like it was designed for children Edit 7/30/17: the app has gotten worse. The time on the song will be counting down as if it is playing but there will be no volume. It randomly cuts in and out doing this, and songs will abruptly become muted. This happens often when the app is running in the background. There is still no "download all" button for your library and no way to add more than 1000 songs to a playlist. The app freezes and lags (mostly on scrolling and navigation)and crashes all the time. Songs that are supposed to be download randomly become unavailable for offline play. If these issues are not addressed promptly I will be switching to Spotify Tidal or Deezer. I hope I will not have to do this because reassembling a music library is tedious but not as tedious as using this app. I expected more from a Google app

Constantly pauses my music, takes forever to play a song, and the app freezes any time I try to scroll! EDIT! Pauses my music every time I open the app to change songs then freezes

At first I thought that if you download this every song on your android while using the same account...... will be on here but it not..... everything is fresh......... which means that the downloaded song (from website like Mp3juices) cant transfer

Lost my music and confuses accounts. Google is turning out to be a waist of time. Gone are the days of software that worked as now its just whatever trash they can put together in the shortest amount of time. Guess Ill have to go back to iTunes. At least they are lossless. ?

I like this to Apple Music as you get this service with YouTube red I wish there was a better way to view the history of all music you listened to I keep getting cannot play errors and songs not playing or skipping especially when using accessories to skip songs such as head sets or Apple watch even with music I save locally

Midway through every song Google play just skips to the next song. Frustrating to not listen to my music

Paid for a subscription solely to stream in background. Really wish they would enable background services for free. Been streaming some of my own and friends music and interested in seeing how much is actually paid in royalties. They have some of my albums under another artist with the same name. Not sure how to fix or differentiate.

Fix memory issues phone often says "cant play song because not enough storage is available" with several hundred megs and create a way to upload music from any device and platform

Its really unbelievable how each update makes this app more broken. Hitting next in a playlist (downloaded for offline play) half the time the song wont play. As in it just sits there till i pick a different song The way i found to fix it is by hitting the back button which works for whatever reason. Now background play isnt working either. Close out of the app and it cuts the music off. Ive reinstalled the app everytime a new update comes out. Really just terrible.

touch on Share option under a song, nothing happens...

Good features, love offline use. Apple Music lacks that quality. So definitely give it a try.
