Google Play Music App Reviews

The lack of simple functionality!

The fact you want us (iOS users) to use and pay for you services, you’d think you’d make it possible to creat an account on iPhones! The fact I can’t manage my subscription or family account is just insane. I will cancel ASAP because I can’t even invite family to my family account! #disappointedingoogle

iPhone X ???

Why has YouTube music got iPhone X support over google play music ??!?

Greatest app for the upload

Please update for the option of equalizer just like a Spotify please thanks

Great song variety, TERRIBLE APP

This app is a blessing in the fact that it has all of the latest albums. Whatever is on iTunes, it is definitely on here. I have no trouble finding music. However, this app is trash. The music pauses every time I click the app, exit the app, open a different app, or scroll within the app. It’s so frustrating and makes listening to music a chore! I hate it so much because I have a subscription to the music but it’s not worth it at all. I would rather use Apple Music. It’s so extremely buggy and I only downloaded this because I have the Google Home little speaker thing and I can’t believe they haven’t updated this app or fixed it since then, it has been so long. If this is a music streaming app, at least make the music play properly! I forgot to mention, when I exit the app, the music stops playing, and I have to click play, pause, play, pause TWICE in order for it to play as well, if I only click play once it shows that it’s playing but no audio really comes out. Incredibly frustrating, and when my subscription ends I’m deleting the app. The website is not any better! The playlists never sync. I threw a party so I composed a party playlist on the app and when on desktop, half of the songs weren’t there. This is so unfortunate. Also, it’s difficult to download songs because the button is not convenient, you have to go to the album/song for the download button to appear. Overall, such buggy service and I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. Please fix.

Buyout of Songza?

In all honesty, this app is poorly designed, still has multiple problems and issues that would seem to be clearly and could easily be fixed but yet arent. If you were one to have used Songza before Google bought the app, then youd know that the comparison is simply horrible. Songza was solid, had great playlists and was very reliable. Google Play takes the same concept (and technology) and yet...it stands so far below its previous state. For the love of all that is sacred, fix this

Hmmm...I thought it was my phone...

I ran with Apple Music for a long time, but was disappointed in the long run. I love Google Play Music, and adore the upload music feature. However, I too have noticed the random (and increasing) pauses in music whenever I open/close my phone, or switch to run other apps. I thought it was my phone, but it’s apparently a common issue. Hopefully this upcoming merge of YouTube Music and Google Play Music will improve the app...so I guess we wait until March? ...but sooner than later on a big fix would be good.

No support for months.

Update the app people use daily like I use this every day and it still doesn’t even have full screen support for the iPhone X not very hard to update for that.

Apple TV?

I know I can airplay from another device but why should I need to have to?

Music Always Stops Playing

I want to like this app because of the features to have your own library plus access to streaming music that isn’t in your own collection. The problem is that many others have said already is the app CONSTANTLY stops playing music for no reason at all. This will happen regardless of what is going on. It can be a saved music file on your phone. It can be streaming when you have WiFi. It can happen all the time. And it does. This app is very glitchy and has scroll problems as well. The service itself is great and when using on a computer I have not experienced issues but this app is borderline useless unless you are ok with constantly hitting the pause/play button to try to get your music playing again. Crazy how Google can’t seem to get an app working that with a subscription costs $10 a month.

PLEASE FIX THE RANDOM MUSIC-STOPPAGE

This was one of my most-used apps until iOS 11. I pay for a Google Play subscription and have discovered a lot of great music here. Now—and echoing many other recent reviews—the music stops playing randomly when I switch between apps, turn off the screen, etc. This is absolutely unacceptable for something tied to a paid service. GOOGLE: WHAT ARE YOU DOING? THIS HAS BEEN BROKEN FOR MONTHS! PLEASE FIX IT!

Where is iPhone X support

From one of the biggest companies you would expect iPhone X support and all the major bugs to be fixed. This app is so broken and the fact that I pay a premium for this. This isnt a free app like Gmail this is paid so fix it already and give me iPhone X support.

Need iPhone X support.

Please update for iPhone X.

Buggy and featureless vs android app

No iPhone X UI optimization Buggy, music will frequently stop playing and be unable to skip, does not handle moving from wifi to cellular data if cell data is disabled in the app settings (songs that are downloaded to the device will stop playing) Numerous features are missing vs the Android Play Music app, such as reordering songs in the now playing queue and adding a song to play next

It’s still Great

I find it works better on iOS than on Android. The buttons are more responsive and further apart for fat fingers, and the android screen was bigger. and i never did find a bug on it while using either OS. It works better than apple music on Android. And iOS for that matter. However apple music will always cooperate better with iOS and the rest of the “iProducts”

Better than Pandora

This has become my go to streaming app, never crashes, and it has a lot of very well done stations. The only compliant I have is the user interface at times leaves something to be desired.

Stops playing if you do anything on your phone.

I have an iPhone 6S. For about 4 months now it has been getting worse and worse. If I open anything else on my phone the music stops playing. If I open the app itself the music stops playing. It behaves like a memory problem. Im about to go back to Spotify and cancel my google subscription. Its that bad..,almost complexly useless. FIX THIS

Can’t cast to google home

It won’t let me cast to any of the google homes I have. I reset homes, redownloaded the google play app and nothing has worked. I can cast from other apps like pandora. Please fix

Has Bugs

I’ve had this app for a while and I am just now having bug problems. When I go to add songs to my library, instead of adding them to the top of the playlist, it adds them onto the bottom. I tried making a new playlist and I cooperated for a bit, and then did the same as before. I also tried to delete a song off of a playlist because I had it on there twice, and it won’t let me delete either. I have also tried moving songs around on the playlist, and they never stay in the spot that I put them in. I used to love this app but now I’m looking into other ones.

Needs a little improvement

Love Google Music but please optimize for iPhone X and add a mic button for search. Please!!!

Good service, awful app design.

First let me say that I love Google and use most of your products. The web version of Google Music is million years away from the app. The iOS App is awful, its not intuitive and its missing more oomph. 1. There should be a better way to discover new music. 2. Curated playlists should not be hidden behind moods. 3. Add genres and start adding the playlists to them (You could probably build an algorithm for this) 4. Podcasts are hard to find on the iOS app. Your algorithm is spot on though, its suggestions are amazing. This is the reason why I switched from Spotify. Known bugs: Songs will stop playing, need to press play to start them again. Will randomly skip songs with no reason
