After I skip like 5 songs, the music Widget on the lock screen goes away. Not sure if it is because my phone was in do not disturb drive mode or not but its annoying. I pay $10 a month so I expect it not to treat me like I am a free Pandora customer basically saying Ive ran out of skips. Plus, this basically makes the do not disturb drive mode useless cause I then have to say "Im Not Driving" to get into my phone to continue skipping songs.
Google Play Music App Reviews
You know what would be nice...
It would be nice if there was an app for the watch to be able to stream music through the watch.
Boring UI, and very buggy
I’ll admit I don’t have much experience with Apple Music, Google Play Music’s main competitor in my opinion, but I’m currently subscribed to 3 other major streaming services. Google Play All Access is my least favorite to use. It remains my main service still since it has the largest library of the ones I use, and is the most functional, and I’ll never get rid of YouTube Red, but Google could learn a thing or two from Amazon Music Unlimited. First and foremost, Play Music needs to make sure their app works with the latest and greatest. Currently this app has major bugs on iOS 11 on iPhone 8/8Plus. I like that it has auto playlists, and that you can download them for offline listening. Some of the bugs I’m referring to above are that the app randomly stops playing even though it shows it’s not paused, the song will freeze, and you have to pause and play it to get it to continue playing. The settings resets itself randomly for things like stream and download quality. When skipping to the next song in the middle of a song, it will start playing the new song from the same time stamp as the song previously skipped. All of these things happen frequently, making them non ignorable. Until they are fixed I will keep my rating at a 1 star and do not recommend the service for music streaming. If it is not fixed with an update soon, I will probably have to look at canceling service and just giving up YouTube Red, which is sad because I’m subscribed to the family plan and all of my family members use the service through my account.
Very buggy
Keeps crashing or freezing or stopping my music since iOS 11 getting really annoyed especially since I pay for unlimited
Still Waiting on a Fix
Whenever I open the app it pauses my music, whenever I close the app it pauses my music. When deleting music from a playlist it deletes the song above the one I selected. I’ve been waiting for months for a fix, not too happy as a paid subscriber.
Amazing ??
Love this app !!
Great but
The phone app itself is great. I like the selection, and the interface. But please add an Apple Watch app.
Make the UI better And add A EQUALIZER
I have been using Spotify, switched to this because my premium ended and I have 3 free months of this, I am transferring my music and its so difficult to use. You have to go through a big process to get 1 song and I have 3000 , Spotify on the other hand has a + on every playable thing and download options on everything. Please fix or add some new ways to download music and stuff. Also add a in app eq bc I hate not having one, Spotify has one and its the best thing ever being able to control your music.
Best Music Experience
Google Play Music is my first music subscription experience and so far it has been awesome. For me Google Play Music and Apple Music were the only choices because they offered songs in my languages . I went with google because of their amazing UI and availability on all platforms. Thanks Google!
Paid user--serves me, but behind Apple Music
I enjoy google music and opt to pay for it per month because I like the option of crafting my own playlists for a variety of things, in the order I want them and to listen to whatever in whatever order I prefer. Dont mind paying for the service, BUT I will say that as far as the curated playlists, variety in the less popular genres I guess you could call it, Apple Music has Google Music beat many many many times over. I listen to a lot of reggae and all of the curated playlists on google share the same music--so whats the point of having all of these different playlists if they play the same music? Apple Music has many playlists that are overflowing with new artists, different mixes, unheard stuff, new stuff--just the diversity is miles ahead of google music. Im One of the few people who are just trying the 3 month trial with Apple Music and am floored by how much more it offers so now going back and forth on whether to ditch google music and trying Apple Music.
Unusably slow
On my iPhone 6+ this app is unbearably laggy. Scrolling down playlists, tapping on albums and every other interaction results in a long delay, and when the app finally reacts, it’s horrendously laggy. Music stops playing randomly, especially over Bluetooth. The app didn’t used to be this way, so please fix these performance regressions.
Music stops, buggy
This app seems to get worse with each update. Even music downloaded to the home randomly stops playing. It doesn’t show that it’s paused or anything, it literally just stops. I pay $15 a month and can’t even listen to my music without it stopping every 15 minutes. I’ve tried multiple iPhones and they all have the same problems
Terrible.
I have a Google Home and Chromecast audio, and getting Google Music to interact with the two in any reasonable fashion is nothing short of a mess. This is crucial to get right, but Google has failed, and failed to fix the issue. Google Home by itself works great. Getting Google Music to use Google Home as a whole home speaker is a flaming pile of software. With Alexa coming out with a similar system, Google better get their act together.
Playing everything in shuffle mode?
For the past few days all my albums play in a shuffled order...no idea why. I did not hit the shuffle button to play or during playback
Great Service, Average App
Love GPM, but the iOS app is downright average.
Its just perfect except for one thing
It occasionally wont play my music because it says my storage is full, when it is not
Love the app but....
I would love to see a Apple Watch supported version

Pretty dang good for a free app!
It is always screwy
This app has always something that will let you down. Right now is not working correctly with iOS 11. You are not able to skip songs when connected via Bluetooth using externals controls. Besides this, other bugs are present. For example the app will allow you to add the same song more than once to a playlist. When you are deleting a song while another one is playing in a playlist the app will delete other song not the one you intended. The worse thing: I’m paying $10 dollars a month to Google for a service that is not working correctly. I think I’m bringing this to Consumer Protection.
I love it but....
I love this app so so much and I’ve been using it for almost two years now, but recently the music has stopped playing every time I open an app like Snapchat, or if I lock my phone. The music even stops playing when I go back into the app to change the song, it is very annoying to always have to press play every time I open an app.
