Good

Once and a while it deletes all my thumbs up music but then I delete it and get it again and then it is fine.

Laggy & buggy on my iPhone 6

As soon as my 4 month free trial ends Im switching back to Spotify. The Play Music app gives me nothing but problems on my iPhone 6. From the laggy interface to the buggy performance that causes my music to stop playing at random times for no reason at all. Im beyond frustrated with this app. If youre considering using Google Play Music on your iPhone then I suggest you think twice & go for a well made app like Spotify or Apple Music because Google Play Music is almost unusable due to the reasons Ive listed above

Some problems I’ve had listed below

- NO LANDSCAPE MODE? There is no landscape mode on my iPhone 6+. This means I can’t see the name of the whole song I am listening to. So for example... if a song is called “Yadda Yadda Yadda (feat. Blablabla)” all I will see is “Yadda Yadda Yadda (feat. Bl)” - NOTIFICATIONS STOP THE MUSIC If I get a text or notification the music stops and I have to hit play again. - SEARCHING IS DIFFICULT When searching for a song or album, make sure to hit enter because for me the song or album I search for hasn’t shown up in the list until I hit enter. - NO SHUFFLE? Does anybody know how to shuffle music? That should be easy. - CANT ACTUALLY BLOCK EXPLICIT MUSIC There is an option in settings to block explicit songs. It doesn’t work. - USES 51mb OF SPACE This app takes up one more megabits than Spotify so I would recommend Spotify because all of the features above work on Spotify except the explicit lyrics. Just sayin.

Good google! But not excellent ?

Bug scrolling on iPhone 6s!! Bug with not playing track in cache ;(

Review

Great app, but needs to glitch less when going back to the app from other apps.

Crashes Constantly

Crashes constantly, incredibly buggy on iPad

Awful

It deleted all my thumbs up music!!! I had at least 100 songs in there!!!

Not syncing across apple devices

Ugh!!! Tried all the rec steps already.

Plays even when turned off

Very disappointing how bad this app is. I was listening to it on my car ride to work and got out and turned it off. Had a big meeting and the app start playing music out of nowhere! It wasn’t even music it was playing but a google ad. Very embarrassed in middle of work meeting for this to happen and I vowed to not use his again due to the unknown chance of it happening again. This is when I switched over to Spotify which is more reliable and has more song choice.

I love the iPhone app but...

A 5 star review because I love the app and the service... but now I’d now love to see an Apple Watch app since it is cellular capable. Get on it!

Once great, now okay.

This was a great service for quite a while, but has recently been growing more and more unreliable. I keep all of my playlists saved to my phone and, despite this, music still takes a long time to begin playing or freezes when switching songs. In the last few weeks this has become worse as, every several songs, the app can go silent in the middle of a song which is terrible when driving. Hopefully they figure out a solution soon.

Extremely frustrating

There was once the coolest music app called Songza. Then it was bought by google and it completely changed. I continued using the app and immediately noticed the increased frequency of ads. It seems like I can’t get through three songs without one. I understand this is free and all, but these are 30 second ads that you cannot skip and usually end up causing the app to freeze for some reason. Also, with the new iOS update, I’ve noticed if I go to another app with music playing the music will stop. I finally reached my max frustration level today and that’s why I’m writing this.

Constantly starts and stops playing!!!

The app constantly stops music, whenever, whenever it’s playing!!!! Even when the home screen is locked and it’s in a pocket Please fix this, the app did not use to do this!!!!

Google Play

Could be one of my favorite applications however the following performance issues kept this from happening; 1. Constant crashing 2. Deleting albums (songs just disappear from playlists etc.) 3. Constant song pausing for no apparent reason Every time I look at the app updates on the app store i very rarely see any updates to this app and when they do release one it doesn’t address any of the issues they should actually fix. Google needs to step it up or i’m taking my money elsewhere

50/50

The service is great. And by service I mean music selection and ability to add your own items to the library. Initially the iOS app was great. It was responsive no matter your library size. That is not so today. My application constantly pauses songs randomly (even though according to the app the song is still playing-you have to press play and cycle through play/pause to make it work again.) The app is sluggish to change between albums. When I go to unlock my phone to switch apps, it stops the music. Overall an unpleasant experience. Want me to goto Spotify google? Get better programmers ASAP.

I love Google Play Music but...

It was decent on iOS 10, but on iOS 11... A B S O L U T E S H I T. If I play music, lock my phone and then open my phone, the music stops for no reason. If I play music, and switch apps the music stops for no reason. The app restarts on its own... A LOT. DOWNLOADED music skips forward slow as hell. Swiping left and right to skip songs is even slower. I really love this app but Google is really bs’ing on fixing these bugs. There is no way a billion dollar company should have an app this buggy, even if it is on a competitor’s OS. I would still recommend Google Play to anyone still using iOS 10. It is an awesome music app when it works correctly.

A lot of good

The only thing I miss from Apple Music is the lyrics but apart from that, I had discover more music that goes with my taste compared to Apple Music. I like the fact that with WatchOS 4 and/or iOS 11 I can manipulate the playback from the watch, even though I can’t use it like Apple Music from the watch but hey I’m always with the phone on me even for run. Also the YouTube red included is awesome.

So buggy

This app is practically unusable on iOS 11. It stops playback every time I open a new text message.

Simply Terrible

As an Android refugee and current YouTube Red subscriber, I feel like I can speak with an unbiased voice. This is a terrible application and subpar by 2017 standards with regards to interface and lacks many of the basic features every other music app Ive used has. I am not a music junkie either, and its frustrating enough for me. So Id imagine you were, youd hate it. So whats wrong? -Clunky interface with zero customization (hate bright white backgrounds at night? Tough!) -500 song playlist limits (why?!) -Download songs to store locally is a hassle / nearly impossible. There is literally no way to download my entire music collection. I have to manually download each album or each playlist. But get them all? Impossible. -Playlists section only displays "recent playlists", by default at the top. As in your most recent four. No way to change order displayed or remove auto-generated playlists. -No welcome screen / bland interface, which is a minor grip for a free user. But for paying users you seriously question why youre paying for this when Spotify as a modern & simple UI. -Horrible website, yep, managing your playlists and songs on a browser presents the same cluncky interface and odd limitations (like being only able to remove on song at a time from a playlist when you mistakenly add the album). Its been like this for at least the last year now (when I switched to iPhone). I have zero faith Google plans to overhaul its app or frankly cares. Instead of waiting longer Im going to switch to Spotify, their free trial was more than enough to convince me they take their music app / experience seriously for paying users.
